About Allahabad Bank
Allahabad Bank is an Indian nationalized bank formed by a group of Europeans on 24 April 1865 in Allahabad with its present headquarters in Kolkata, India. After the establishment the acquisition of the bank shifted from P & O Banking Corporation in 1920 and to Chartered Bank in 1927 and it also started its operations in Rangoon in the beginning of 20th century. The Indian Government nationalized Allahabad Bank along with other 14 banks on 19 July 1969. Grievance regarding the misbehaviour and harrassment from Branch Manager of Allahabad Bank, Kankurgachi Branch,Kolkata,West Bengal.
Dear Sir/Madam,
This letter is intended as a feedback from my side after the insult, harassment, misbehavior and misconduct I received from the Branch Manager of Allahabad Bank, Kankurgachi Branch.
I, Saptarshi Sil, has been holding two joint savings account (one joint account with my mother for the last 10 years and another premium joint account with my wife for the last 5 months) at above mentioned branch. Also, I have 7 to 8 Fixed Deposits currently running at the same branch.
Due to some security concerns, I needed one Bank Locker at Allahabad Bank, Kankurgachi Branch on urgent basis. In this regard, I met with the Branch Manager and he suggested me to open a Premium savings account, mentioning that for Bank Locker, Premium account is a mandatory criteria for any customer.
Without any hesitation, I opened one Premium account (Joint account with my wife), with Rs. 20,000/- (Rupees Twenty thousand) as deposit on 17th August, 2013 and on this very day, I made one application for Bank Locker and submitted it to the Branch Manager.
I have the received copy of the application duly signed by the senior bank official.
The Branch Manager assured me that my application would be treated on priority basis and whenever there is any locker availability, he would make it sure that I can avail the same.
After that I followed up with Branch Manager each month – (From September to December )- regarding the status of locker availability.
But unfortunately, everytime I was given false assurance by the Manager that as there is no availability of lockers, he had to forcefully break some lockers and for that some more time is needed.
Finally I went to the Bank on 25th of January, 2014 to check the status once again.
But I was treated in the most insulting and unethical manner by the Branch manager on that day within the Bank premises itself and in front of other existing customers.
The manager told me that locker was available but he has already given it to someone else.
When I reminded him that I had already applied for the locker 5 months before and also I was given assurance that my application would be treated with high priority, the manager simply told me that its not possible for him to entertain every customer and he also behaved in the most rude manner with me. He was not even interested to have any sort of discussion with me regarding this matter.
He also rudely told me that if I wish I can close the premium account (as if it makes no difference to him whether I continue with the account or not), but he would do nothing, rather he is not bound to do anything for my locker application.
Sir/Madam, being one of the oldest customers of this branch, there has been no problem till date, either from my side or from the branch side itself. Also, I have been a customer at this branch with clean records and till date there has been no complain about the transaction history of my accounts.
But I was shocked and astonished by this unexpected rude behaviour of the Branch Manager, being a Senior Personnel like him.
This incident has left a very dissatisfying impression of your Bank and my faith and trust on your organization has been deeply affected.
I am rather sorry to say that if I continue to received this kind of behavior from your Bank in future in any respect, I would rather give a second thought of continuing all my accounts and FD-s at your bank.
After being given false assurance repeatedly for the past 5 months and also being an old customer, I can at least expect a supportive response from the Branch Manager instead of this rude, improper, reluctant and irresponsible behaviour.
Also I feel that the application of Locker which I made on 17th August, 2013, was simply of no use and has gone in vain.
I have no option left other than mailing my grievance directly to you.
This is my earnest request to you to kindly look into this matter and provide some sort of support in this regard.
If required, I am ready to provide the scan copy of the application I made for the locker and also all the details of my accounts in Allahabad Bank, Kankurgachi Branch.

I have to bring to your notice an incident of misbehaviour of one assistant Mr. Narendra of your branch in Ingraham Institute Campus, Hapur Road, Ghaziabad. for an immediate action in the matter.
I am a Senior Citizen and had visited the above bank on 24.11.2010 to submit one form 15-G on behalf of my wife (Mrs. Deepa Garg) ,who has eight F.D.[s] for a total value of more than Rs.10 lacs and has Saving Account No. : 2045865178-1
I was not clear whether I was to submit form 15G or 15H.
Hence I requested the dealing officer/assistant Mr.Narendra, who was holding the above form in his hands, to check & confirm that I had submitted the right form, but to my surprise he bluntly replied that he will not check & that Mr Malik, to whom I had initially handed over the above form must have checked the correctness of the form.
I again requested to tell me whether it was form 15G or 15H but he again refused bluntly to reply to my question, which is highly unjustified & undesirable. I do not understand any reason for such a behaviour on the part of Mr. Narendra, who was still holding the form in hands.
This badly reflects on the reputation of such a prestigious bank.
I hope you will not approve such type of behaviour of an employee.
Therefore I request you to take an appropriate action against Mr. Narendra.
I am writing to you because no action is taken against such erring officials at local level & such actions go unchecked.
I will feel obliged if I am informed about the action taken by you.

Iam new user of allahabad bankbut my atm card is not working please suggest me what can i do.only one time i have used this card but know its not working.
i hv two saving bank accounts in allahabad bank baroda house new delhi branch in N.Rly.HQ premises. This Rly.office has about 8000 employees & 90% of them hv opted their ECS salary account. We r so sorry to point out that its ATM machine located on main road’s prime location, generally remains out of order around 20 days repeat 20 days a month. Till wriing these lines, still it is out of order continuously for the last one month, breaking all records. When contacted its branch officials, they hv simple reply “we r helpless bcoz our higher officers are impotent. Lodge complaint to our HO, yehan hamara sir mat khao'”. If yr bank fail to provide ATM service what is its use and it needs to be dismantled. Moreso, some of staff of this branch needs to be changed bcoz they dont know what countesy means.
I agree with Jeet Singhji for his comments.Sabse ghatiya bank at present in India as far as service is concerned.This is because of quality of employees is mostly ghatiya.
I am from Nagpur. I have taken home loan & housing renovation loan from Allahabad Bank.I have made prepayment of both of my loans.I am complaining against that who has done all the formalities to close my accounts.His name is Shyamprasad working in Allahabad Bank,civil lines br.Nagpur.He did not issue me no dues certificate at that time. instead of that he gave me statement of account after writing A/C closed on that.When after 7-8 days i went to him & asked for NDC,he became angry for no reason.He is not a good person.I am sending this complaint for those higher authorities who are running this bank efficiently.If they want to keep happy all the customers i.e excisting & new customers than they must warn to such type of officers to behave properly with bank customers.After all they are earning money from us.They are not doing our work free of cost.

I had an experience for not having any proper reply from the customer cell when I had made a complain on 5th March10 about doubiting of an amount of Rs.540 from my A/c during purchage which was shown as error in transaction and I did’nt receive any document from sweeping machine of vendor still after 45 days.
