I set a password to unlock my passport, but it deos not requires if connected to my laptop. Suddenly one day it asked password to unlock and I entered the correct password but it shows invalid password. The hard disc was responding very slow….

Hello, I am using 1TB WD My Book Live since January 2013. Suddenly since last 4 days i am facing a problem. I can view data on the drive by clicking on the My Book Live shortcut icon on the desktop through lan but the WD Smartware is unable to detect the My book live. I am also not able to access the My Book live through Wd 2go.. I am also not getting the options which i get when clicking on the WD Smartware icon on the system tray. When ever i start the My Book live the green light blinks throughout even when the drive is not being accessed. Earlier it used to be solid green or blue when we donot access the drive.. Please help urgently.

After trying to carry out a software upgrade as recommended by Western Digital, the upgrade failed due to reasons not known and since then the hard disk is inaccessible. I have My Passport 1 TB hdd. It was working fine but suddenly now a days when I connect to PC, sometimes it does not show anything. If it shows accessing that drive is very bad/slow. I observed once it got heated, when I wanted to take backup from my hdd to PC, i was trying to copy some data.
